Emergency Callout

For local callouts within the Crumpsall, North Manchester, and central Manchester area, we can often be with you in as little as 20 minutes. For locations further out across Greater Manchester, typical response times are 30–60 minutes depending on traffic and time of day. We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We cover a 40-mile radius from our base in Crumpsall, Manchester. This includes all of Greater Manchester, parts of Lancashire, Cheshire, West Yorkshire, and Derbyshire. Use our postcode checker above to see if we cover your area.

Our pricing depends on your location and the time of day. Out-of-hours callouts (typically late evening through to early morning) may carry a small premium to cover the unsociable hours. We're always upfront about the cost before we come out — no hidden fees or surprises. Call us and we'll give you an honest quote on the spot.

We carry a wide range of popular sizes on board, but with over 4,200 tyres in our catalogue, we can't carry them all. If we don't have your exact size, we'll source it from our supplier network and can usually return the same day or next morning to fit it. For emergency situations, we may be able to fit a suitable temporary alternative to get you moving safely.

Tyre Fitting & Services

Your tyre size is printed on the sidewall of your current tyres. It looks something like 225/45R17 91V. The first number (225) is the width in mm, the second (45) is the profile as a percentage of the width, and R17 means it fits a 17-inch rim. You can also find the correct size in your vehicle handbook, on a sticker inside the driver's door frame, or inside the fuel filler cap. If you're unsure, just tell us your vehicle make, model, and year and we'll look it up for you.

Yes, we can work in light to moderate rain — this is Manchester after all! Our vans are fully equipped for outdoor work. In extremely heavy rain or dangerous conditions (lightning, flooding), we may need to wait for conditions to improve for safety reasons, but we'll always communicate with you and get the job done as soon as it's safe.

Yes. We remove and dispose of your old tyres responsibly as part of our fitting service. Tyres are taken to approved recycling facilities in compliance with UK environmental regulations. You don't need to worry about disposal.

Yes, we fit runflat tyres for BMW, MINI, Mercedes, and other vehicles that use them. Runflat tyres require specific handling and our equipment is designed for them. We stock a range of runflat options from major brands. If your vehicle originally came with runflat tyres, we'd generally recommend replacing like-for-like, but we can discuss your options.

Budget tyres (e.g. Hifly, Sunny, Grenlander) are manufactured to meet legal safety standards and are perfectly fine for everyday driving. They tend to wear faster and may have slightly longer braking distances in the wet. Mid-range tyres (e.g. Firestone, Nexen, Hankook) offer a good balance of performance, longevity, and value. Premium tyres (e.g. Michelin, Continental, Pirelli) use the latest rubber compounds and tread technology for superior grip, lower noise, better fuel efficiency, and longer life. The best choice depends on your budget, how many miles you drive, and what vehicle you have. We're happy to advise.

Punctures & Repairs

No. Under British Standard BS AU 159, a tyre can only be repaired if the puncture is in the central 75% of the tread area and the hole is no larger than 6mm. Damage to the sidewall, shoulder area, or bead cannot be safely repaired. Tyres that have been driven on while flat (run-flat damage) also cannot be repaired as the internal structure may be compromised. We'll always assess the damage honestly and only repair if it's safe to do so.

A properly carried out plug-and-patch repair to BS AU 159 standard is a permanent fix. It will last the remaining legal life of the tyre. We don't use quick-fix plugs or sealants — our repairs involve removing the tyre from the rim, inspecting the inside for hidden damage, and applying a combination plug and patch from the inside. This is the industry-standard method used by all reputable tyre fitters.

In many cases, yes, but it depends on the type and amount of sealant used. Some sealants coat the inside of the tyre and make it difficult to inspect for internal damage, which means the tyre may need replacing rather than repairing. If you've used a can of tyre sealant as a temporary fix, let us know when you call and we'll advise.

TPMS & Sensors

TPMS stands for Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. It's a safety system fitted to all new cars sold in the UK since November 2014. Each wheel has a small sensor inside that monitors the air pressure and alerts you via a dashboard warning light if the pressure drops significantly. Correct tyre pressure improves safety, fuel economy, and tyre life. A faulty TPMS sensor is an MOT failure, so it's important to get it sorted.

If you've checked and corrected all four tyre pressures but the TPMS light remains on, it usually means one of the sensors has failed. TPMS sensors run on small batteries that typically last 5–10 years and can't be replaced separately — the whole sensor needs swapping. It could also need reprogramming after a tyre change. We can diagnose which sensor has failed and replace it at your location.

Wheels & Alignment

Signs of a cracked alloy include: a slow puncture that keeps coming back even after the tyre has been checked; visible hairline cracks on the inner or outer rim; vibration at speed; or air bubbles when the wheel is submerged in water during a leak test. Cracks are most commonly caused by potholes, speed bumps, and kerb impacts. If you suspect a crack, call us — we offer a collect, repair, and return service.

We recommend checking your wheel alignment at least once a year, or whenever you notice your car pulling to one side, the steering wheel sitting off-centre, or uneven tyre wear. You should also get it checked after hitting a significant pothole or kerb, or when fitting new tyres. Alignment is available at our workshop — it's a quick job that can save you hundreds in premature tyre wear.

Don't worry — this is very common. We carry specialist extraction tools that can remove locking wheel nuts without damaging your alloy wheels. We can come to your location and have them off in most cases. We can also supply and fit a new set of locking nuts with a fresh key so you're protected again. Check your glovebox, boot, and under the spare wheel first — the key is often hiding somewhere in the car.

Pricing & Payment

Because our price includes fitting and is based on your location and time of day. A customer 2 miles away during the daytime will pay less than someone 30 miles away at 3am — and we think that's fair. Rather than listing a confusing price matrix, we prefer to give you an honest, all-inclusive quote over the phone. No hidden fees, no surprises when we arrive. Just call us with your tyre size and location and we'll quote you immediately.

We accept cash and all major debit and credit cards. Payment is due upon completion of the work. For fleet and business customers, we can discuss account arrangements.

General

Ideally yes, especially for payment and to hand over keys if needed. However, for pre-arranged mobile fittings at your home, we can work on the vehicle if you leave the keys and make payment arrangements in advance. Just let us know when you book.

Yes. We fit tyres to all electric and hybrid vehicles including Tesla, BMW i-series, Nissan Leaf, VW ID range, and more. EVs are heavier than petrol/diesel equivalents and produce more torque, so they benefit from EV-specific tyres designed for the extra weight and instant power delivery. We can advise on the best options for your EV.

The legal minimum tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tread. However, tyre performance — especially in wet conditions — starts to drop significantly below 3mm. We recommend replacing tyres when they reach 2-3mm for optimal safety. Most tyres last between 20,000–40,000 miles depending on driving style, alignment, and tyre quality. Tyres should also be replaced if they're over 10 years old regardless of tread depth, as the rubber compounds degrade over time.

Yes. We stock both dedicated winter tyres and all-season tyres. Winter tyres use a softer rubber compound that stays flexible below 7°C, giving you better grip on cold, wet, and icy roads. All-season tyres are a great year-round option for Manchester — they handle wet, cold, and mild winter conditions without needing a seasonal swap. We can advise which option is best for your vehicle and driving pattern.
